Major Differences Between University Essays and High School Essays

There is a big difference in writing high school and university essays, most of the students get A Grades in their high school for writing essays but in university, they don’t get the same remarks and they just  keep on wondering what is going wrong and where?. The remarks they usually gets are like: Your writing is not quite “there” yet, your writing is lacking something, you must work on your essay writing skills etc.

You must understand the fact that writing in university or college is far more different then writing high school essays. Writing standards varies a lot, and it’s not just the standard but it is also about writing something unique and different. Thereby, if you are still confused, what is the basic difference between high school essays and university essays then you are at the right place.

Normally, you are required to write five paragraph essays in your high school, which will contain all the relevant information about the topic. On the other hand, college essays are bit difficult to handle. University essays consist of arguments that are based on complex ideas and details that are organized in a very logical manner.

Another major difference between high school essays and university essays is that in high school essays, one has to give a point without any analytical details. While university essay writing is more analytical as well as informative in nature, it also appears as if the writer is having conversation with the reader. This is why; the type of essays which is written for the high school cannot suit the level of university writing.

Thus, there are many differences between an essay for high school and essay for university, but I have just pointed out some of the major differences and it is not even difficult to reach the standards of university or college essay writing, it is just the matter of constant practice.
