6 Effective Tips for Writing MBA Essay, which will guarantee admission in your dream business school!

Are you having problem in writing MBA admission essay?

Firstly, let us understand what admission essays are actually, admission essays are used by the universities in order to selecting applicants. When writing MBA essay you should focus on only one thing that is to convince the admission officer that you deserve the admission.

This sounds easy but, if everyone could do this, you would find everybody in business school. So to take admission in big universities, like Harvard, NYU, Tuck, Duke, Cornell, UCLA, Mit etc. you have to write very effective MBA essays.

So, I decided to single out some key points an applicant should consider while writing MBA application essay for entrance in a business school:

Following Are The Six Tips for Making Your MBA Application Essay a Sure Shot to Success!

  • Concentrate more on your Introduction:

An Introduction will be first impression of your MBA admission essay so you have to use it in a way that grabs the interest of the reader. Ask yourself, why someone would like to read your essay after going through an introduction. Try to intrigue the reader by raising different questions in his mind; this will probably force him to read the whole essay.

For example:
“I graduated from high school in 1987, with no money and no goals. I couldn’t afford college tuition fees; as a result I started odd jobs for some months before joining United States Marine Corps. I joined Marines unprepared for the next thirteen weeks to face extraordinary mental and physical challenges”

  • Make sure the preceding paragraphs match the essence of INTRO:

Why would someone read the next paragraph if it doesn’t relate to the introductory one? This comes under the heading of common sense that every paragraph of your MBA essay is interrelated with each other.

  • Lying about yourself will only create problems:

Avoid lying in your essay; tell the truth instead of twisting, exaggerating and extending all the facts about yourself. The person who will be reading your essay is not a fool and so he will instantly find out what is wrong in the essay. This will eventually devastate your impression on the admission officer so try to be honest.

  • “BIG WORDS” will lead you to big troubles:

Most of the time, students believe that using “Big Words” will create a good impression on admission officer. You should be able to convey the message in an understandable way rather than using inappropriate big words to confuse the admission officer. Thus, using big words will be of no help in your MBA essay.

  • Wrap up your work in a good way:

What are conclusions for? It is a last and final chance to convince the admission officer that you are worthy of the MBA admission. Thus, avoid summarizing your whole essay in conclusion; he doesn’t want to read the same thing again and again. Think of the central idea of your whole MBA essay and explain it in some lines.

  • Revision is good to trace the mistakes:

Revise your MBA essay again and again; see if you have used inappropriate words somewhere or sentences that are not related to the main topic of your MBA essay, delete them at once! Check all the paragraphs, if they are bonded with each other or not. You can also write your introductory paragraph again or after completing the whole essay. Be very careful while editing your essay otherwise you will ruin your admission.

Therefore, everybody can write but writing an effective essay is something different, so consider the above suggestions seriously and use them while writing MBA essay for your admission.
