How to Write a Compare and Contrast Channel Essay

Nowadays, thousands of channels have been launched with each channel competing to a particular channel through its transmissions. What makes the particular channel to dominate another? It has to be analyzed; thus, students are usually being asked by their supervisors to write compare and contrast channel essays and evaluate their analytical skills.

There are many structures that the student can follow to write a channel essay however here is one of the simplest formats to write a compare and contrast channel essay:

STEP 1

Introduction: Beginning an essay with question is the ideal way to start your channel essay. Your question should be interesting to grab the attention of your reader. Anecdote is another way that you may follow but the type does not work well in case of compare and contrast essay. Generalization of your thesis and topic sentence followed up by your essay question is the best way to introduce a compare and contrast essay.    

STEP 2

Body Paragraph 1 (Comparison): Comparison is a part where you have to compare similarities between the two subject matters. Three comparisons between the subject matter should be given in a channel essay with each comparison following a different body paragraph.   

Body Paragraph 2 (Contrast): Contrast is a part where you have to compare difference between the two subject matters. Just like comparisons, three contrasts are ideal to be given in channel essays with each contrast following a different body paragraph.

STEP 3

Conclusion: Restating your thesis and summarizing your view point in a few sentences is what your conclusion should be.
