
Analytical writing skills of students are being tested through GMAT essays. There are 2 essays in all which are being assigned to them in GMAT. Students are given the duration of 30 minutes for each GMAT essay. In the first essay, students have to analyze an argument; while in the second essay, they are asked to analyze a particular issue.
Time management is crucial for students in the GMAT essay; therefore, they have to manage time well for handling their GMAT essay topics and GMAT essay questions. Students should not take more than 3 minutes to brainstorm for ideas and create an outline for each essay. They should take at least 22 minutes for writing and 5 minutes for proofreading each essay.
In an essay on argument, you have to find a fault within an argument and provide the better solution to that argument with detailed examples. In analysis of the issue, you are being given a choice to agree either with pros or cons of the issue. If you have the better understanding on pros of a situation; then you should select it and vice versa.
There are some general tips that students may follow to write their GMAT essays. Here they are:
